Password Generator

A password generator that sends passwords over the internet defeats its own purpose. This one runs entirely on your device using the browser's cryptographic random number generator — we never see what it makes, because it never leaves your phone.

How it works

  1. Choose random characters or a word passphrase.
  2. Set the length and what to include.
  3. Copy the one you want — a fresh set appears whenever you change anything.

Questions

Are these passwords sent anywhere?

No. They're generated in your browser with crypto.getRandomValues and never transmitted. We couldn't see them if we wanted to.

Random characters or a passphrase?

Random is stronger per character; a four-word passphrase is easier to type and remember and still very strong. Both are shown with their strength in bits.

What does the crack time mean?

It's an offline guessing estimate at 100 billion guesses a second — a well-funded attacker with a stolen password database. Online attacks are far slower.
