Vocal Remover
In most stereo mixes the lead vocal sits dead centre, equally in both channels. Subtracting one channel from the other cancels whatever is centred — usually the voice. It's the classic karaoke trick: instant, free, and imperfect in ways we'd rather explain up front than pretend away.

Questions
Will the vocal disappear completely?
Rarely. It works best on wide stereo mixes where the voice is dead centre. Reverb and doubled vocals sit outside the centre and survive.
Why did the bass and drums get quieter too?
Because they're centred as well. Anything in the middle of the mix is reduced — that's the limitation of this method, and why studio stems need AI separation.
Can I use a mono file?
No. The technique compares the left and right channels, so a mono recording has nothing to compare. We'll tell you rather than return an unchanged file.
